SLOWMOTIONS: THE NASSENSTEINS (JEF & PAUL)
@ Biederberg | Finders Projects, Laurierstraat 53, Amsterdam 19 July - 13 August 2016

Biederberg|Finders Projects is proud to present a duo-exhibition of the work of Jef Nassenstein (1939) and Paul Nassenstein (1966). During the anniversary exhibition at the studio complex "de nieuw en meer" Amsterdam in 2013, painter and draftsman Paul Nassenstein invited his father as guest exhibitor. In February 2016, they again exhibited new work together with the Suzanne Biederberg Gallery at the Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair. Jef Nassenstein's computer-composed still life works with a subtle play of image and sound in which qua form moves somewhere between film animation and classical painting. In contrast, Paul Nassenstein uses the more traditional techniques of pencil and paint. Still, similarities in figuration and the creation of a slightly absurd own world with space for humor and alienation are to be found in the work of both artists.
